Context:
I never consider myself a photographer. Taking photographs is just something I do as part of my daily routine. The photos I take can sometimes be mundane and personal to me, but so are the photos of Juergen Teller or Wolfgang Tillmans. What makes these photos so attractive to complete strangers. Is it their composition or their contents?
Brief:
Make a book of photographs I have taken which will engage the audience.
Photos must be taken with 35mm film within the last 12 months.
The constructed book must feel nice to hold, be easy to flick through and have an interesting/eye catching appearance.
RIGHT! running with the idea of 'a book of illustrations' and looking at the amount of time until the deadline, realistically, I aint gonna get enough decent drawings done to make a book I'd be happy with. So I'm going to do 'a book of photographs'. I want the book to be A4 so the quality of my 35mm photos will have to be greater. I'm going to spend the next few days selecting from my negatives which photos I would want to appear in such a book. You can find examples so far on my Flickr. These negatives will be scanned using the nikon film scanner in college, then a further selection process will take place.
