NEWCASTLE

About a fortnight ago the whole vis com first year group went up to Newcastle for the night where we visited The Baltic and Tyne Mouth beach.

I always get excited by the Baltic. I went earlier this year for the first time to visit an exhibition called 'Spank The Monkey' which ran mainly in the gallery but also all around the city, with some amazing work from Faile, Fafi, Miss Van, Os Gemeos, Takashi Murakami to name just a few.

This exhibition wasn't quite as impressive, but I still enjoyed being in the Baltic. Its such an interesting building, an old flour mill, which it still has printed on the side. Its like a huge tower and its location by the river tyne means that once you get to the top (where theres a special open air terrace) you get an amazing view of the city, with the sage, the river and the many bridges crossing over it.

Here are a few of the things at the baltic which tickled my fancy..
