The book... is printed! I found the place on monday. Its in this big house through meanwood that all the printers appear to share. It was a real trek and I didn't want to go back today, but yesterday I only went to see them with a copy of the juergen teller book I wanted it to be like, and a few enquiries about resolution and whether they were InDesign compatible. Today I went back with the layout done in InDesign, and they printed it there and then. I taught the printer a little about the 'Print Booklet' option in InDesign and he knocked me a couple of quid of the print.
Working on the layout has been quite thereputic after the monotony that is scanning negatives. I suppose the only snags I approached where when I had two images of the same subject, and couldn't decide which one to use, or realising that an image was just too cheesey for the book, or incredibly boring.
I'm pleased with the print anyway. I'm looking forward to getting a cover on it and holding the finished piece!
