I first heard of Deth P. Sun back in 2005 while studying for my A-Levels. I only recently found out that it is a man (like Yoshitomo Nara, I thought it was a woman).
He's also become a little more mainstream since back then, with this illustration in 'Nylon' magazine.
He uses a good mix of typography with his commercial work, but his portfolio is mainly based around characters;
